The Role: Warehouse Operator.
This role is responsible for the accurate and efficient execution of all warehouse activities, including receiving, verification, storage, picking, and dispatch of materials. The Warehouse Operator ensures data integrity through accurate system transactions, variance investigation, and supports smooth warehouse workflows across multiple stockrooms. The position requires attention to detail, and commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Key Performance Areas:
- Inbound Logistics & Receiving: Receive, verify, and accurately process all inbound goods and invoices across stock categories, ensuring timely binning and reporting of any discrepancies.
- Outbound Logistics patch: Pick, package, and dispatch all outbound goods to Sandvik and Ngezi sites, managing allocations, rotable movements, and all required dispatch documentation.
- Inventory Control & Reporting: Maintain real-time inventory accuracy through system transactions, reporting, variance investigations, and support for stock reconciliation and returns processes.
- Sales & Customer Support: Assist walk-in and electronic customers with product identification and orders, liaise with the Order Desk on quotes and pricing, and ensure all sales transactions are accurately processed and documented.
- Documentation & Administration: Systematically file all warehouse records and process documentation for service invoices, DocuSign receipts, and fuel transactions.
- Equipment Operation & Housekeeping: Safely operate a forklift for loading and offloading, maintain 5S housekeeping standards, and promptly report any defects or incidents to the Supervisor.
- Health, Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies, conduct pre-use equipment checks, always wear correct PPE, and report any hazards or incidents immediately.
Your Profile:
- National Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Stores Management
- 2+ years' experience in a warehousing or logistics environment
- Experience with inventory reconciliation and document management
- Proficiency in ERP systems
- Forklift Operating Certificate is also an added advantage.
